Today we did a mini-olympics, using the stairs in the school, to see if we could make some practical use of comparative adverbs and adjectives.
The Sant Celoni market was taking place when we went downstairs - the temptation to go shopping was strong, but Andreu managed to resist it and he went first:
At. 5.2seconds, he did well, but Arianne was faster:
She ran up the stairs in a speedy 4.7seconds, and was then followed by Aida:
whose time of 5.3seconds was just a little bit slower than Andreu´s. Next there was Lorena:
who was just as quick as Arianne with her time of 4.7seconds, but the best was yet to come with Alba:
She managed to score the fastest time of all, with an incredibly quick 3.8seconds. Marina was next.
She managed to be just as fast as Andreu with 5.2seconds. The next contestant, Helena, provided us with the best surprise of the day:
Walking up the stairs in a leisurely 9.7seconds. she said she felt tired!
Josep did the stairclimb a lot more quickly:
He completed the challenge in 4.4seconds, faster than everyone so far except Alba. Jesus followed:
He scored a rapid 4.1seconds, making him the second fastest. The last student to try was cameraman Joel:
Who was just short of Andreu´s time with 5.5seconds. Finally it was the teacher´s turn:
He managed to do quite well, running up the stairs in the same time as Jesus and becoming joint second fastest.
